When you see our holiday home (gîte) "Pomerol" you'll fall in love with it just like we did.
We didn't name this lovely self-catering holiday home after a famous wine region by accident. Château Coulon Laurensac used to be a wine-producing property. This beautiful 200 year old building used to be the château's cellar master's lodging. Now it has everything you need to enjoy a "grand-cru" holiday.
Pomerol (4 persons, 80 m2) [861 square feet]
This stylish intimate cottage is finished to a high standard with lots of home from home comforts. Pomerol has all the right ingredients for a perfect holiday. There are two sofas grouped around the former fireplace in the tastefully decorated living room with beautiful exposed beams and honey-colored limestone walls.
Furnishing and equipment
Pomerol has recently been renovated and redecorated to welcome you with all the modern comfort. In the living room there is a selection of English and French books. A telephone (incoming line only), complementary high speed Internet access and a TV with DVD player are all at your disposal to make for a comfortable stay. If we are at home, you can come and borrow as many DVDs as you like. In addition to the French television there is a wide selection of satellite channels. Among them many British and American channels like BBC, Sky news, CNN, etc.
Well situated, the house offers a high degree of privacy. Pomerol overlooks the park and has its own garden (almost half the size of a football field) and boasts a lovely seating area with garden furniture and a sunshade.
Kitchen
The kitchen area is spacious and has a modern, fitted and well-equipped kitchen/dining room (table, 4 chairs) with cooker, dishwasher, etc. As well as bowls and pans, there is a coffee machine, kettle, toaster, iron and a vacuum cleaner, in short, everything you need for a comfortable stay.
Bedrooms
There are two spacious bedrooms upstairs. One has a double bed (Box-spring: 1.60x2.00 m) [5.5 feet by 6.6 feet], the other two (large) single beds. On the same floor there is a sizeable luxury bathroom with a jacuzzi bath, two washbasins and a WC.
The gite is non-smoking, and sorry, no pets are allowed.
Swimming pool
You can enjoy moments of leisure or take a refreshing dip in our large swimming pool (6 by 12m), [807 square feet]. The pool, which has two roman steps, is stunningly set at the south side of the château.
